Arrival/Dismissal Policy

Students are expected to be in school at 8:30 A.M.  The school day ends at 2:50 P.M.

Arrival – Walkers are not allowed in the building before 8:10. If you need to drop off your children before 8:10, please make arrangements with the Agawam School Age Childcare Program.

Dismissal – All parents are to wait outside for their children.

Kindergarten (and siblings) - Children will be dismissed to the courtyard from the back corner door in the courtyard. You must get out of your car and come to meet your child at the back door. Please bring your car tag with you so the staff can properly identify you.

1st grades (and siblings) will be dismissed to the courtyard lobby door. Parents should come and wait outside the lobby courtyard door, holding their car tag. When the staff sees your car tag, we will call your child’s name to exit the door and meet you.

2nd & 3rd & 4th grades – Children will be dismissed to the parking lot side (Springfield Street) of the building. Parents should pull up along the curb starting at the far end of the main building. It is important to not leave space between your car and the car in front of you, this will allow as many cars as possible off of Springfield Street and into the parking lot car line. Please stay in your cars and have your car tag attached to your passenger visor. A staff member will call your child’s name to get into your car. It is important to take your place at the end of the car line when you arrive. Please do not cut in front of cars who were waiting before you. It’s essential to model courteous behavior for our children.

Please have your school issued blue car tags in your hand when picking up your child on the courtyard and visible on your car visor when in the front parking lot.

After School Playground Use – If you choose to stay after dismissal to use the playground with your children please pull your car to the side of the parking lot to allow for other cars to exit the parking lot.

Thank you for your cooperation with this important matter.
