Leprechauns and Literacy! Yesterday students at the ECC hunted for mischievous leprechauns around the school, including in the office! Last night 40 parents and children came out to take part in the first Family Literacy Night, where they took part in many activities around the book, Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert.

The ECC at Perry Lane recently had Ms. Pamela from the Agawam Public Library visit to talk to the students about the library and how to take care of books. Earlier this week students were able to visit the new library that Mrs. Polley created for students to practice checking out books. Students chose a book to take home to read with their families and will visit again in the future.

Butterfly release! As a part of science, ECC students study the life cycle of a butterfly. Each classroom watches as butterflies emerge from a crysalis, grow over a few weeks, then fly off. Students in Miss Joanna's class cheered as they flew away.

Students at the ECC are learning about our community and the many jobs in Agawam. A fire truck stopped by to visit us and the students loved seeing it and hearing from Allan Burrage, one of Agawams finest. It was a great day to practice a fire drill too.
